Did you know.... Jewelry on your homeowner's policy has a $1000 limit!!! After the shock fades, here is what you can do. Gather your valuables and asses if any one item is over $500. If any item is over $500 in value, then you will need an appraisal less then 2 years old. Now heres the kicker... if you have over $5000 in jewelry, you will want to get a separate policy spcificly for your jewelry, instead of putting it on your homeowner's policy.
